Wind
Turbine Parts for Power Generation
Specialty Bar Products Company is a manufacturer of turbine parts for generators and machines alloy steel bars into hardware for the wind turbines of the power generation industry. We utilize high-quality machining or forging processes such as thread rolling to manufacture parts such as barrel nuts and alloy steel dowel pins.

Machined and Forged: Studs, Nuts, and Bolts... Machined Washers
and Dowel Pins
Specialty Bar Products uses various grades of steel as specified by the customer to machine wind power turbines’ gearbox casing hardware. Our studs, bolts, and nuts are either machined or forged, depending on the application or the client specification. We also machine high-quality washers and dowel pins. These steel components are used in the internal and external bolting of the gearbox casing assembly for the wind turbine. Specialty Bar Products machines to the exact specifications of our customers and always achieves extremely close tolerances.

Thread Rolling for Bolts and Barrel Nuts
Specialty Bar Products machines alloy steel bars into barrel nuts and bolts to attach the turbine blades to the wind turbine unit. Our machinists are experienced in thread rolling, not cutting, for the bolts to ensure high performance levels of our wind turbine parts. In some cases, bolts and barrel nuts undergo a coating application to protect them from environmental elements according to client specifications. Customers who choose Specialty Bar Products for their power generation part machining needs receive superior machined components that meet or exceed performance expectations.

Specialty Bar Products in Action:
Steel Bar Machining for Wind Turbine Power Generation
Wind power generation utilizes either 3-bladed upwind or 2-bladed downwind turbines. These turbines are elevated on towers at high altitudes to allow the blades to catch the wind and turn at speeds that range from 8 to 60 miles per hour. The gear box contains mechanisms that prevent wind turbine rotations from exceeding 60 mph which could lead to faster mechanical breakdown or other damage to the turbine or its equipment. These machines are devices that are exposed to unrestricted motion and harsh environmental conditions, including high levels of moisture, which leads to these parts to wear down more quickly than the components of other turbines used for power generation.
Specialty Bar Products commits to producing the
close tolerances through the high quality machining processes
and application coatings, per client specifications, necessary
for quality wind power components. As a leading world supplier
of steel machined components, Specialty Bar Products relies on
the skills of experienced machinists to follow customer specifications
in order to produce the highest quality machined parts for the
wind-based power generation sector.
