Specialty Bar Products is proud to machine steel
into working parts for the gas-based turbine power generation
industry. In power generation, an axial gas turbine uses internal
combustion to convert the chemical energy of liquid fuel into
the mechanical energy of a rotor movement. The gas turbine comprises
a compressor, a combustion area, and a turbine. The compressor
intakes and compresses air which moves into the combustion area.
Here, fuel injectors shoot streams of liquid fuel into the flame
holder that keeps a flame continuously burning to generate high-velocity
hot gasses. The hot gasses drive the movement of a turbine which
is connected to the output shaft that extracts energy.
