Specialty Bar Products uses CNC technology to turn torsion bars that match close tolerances and meet tight deadlines. Our state-of-the-art CNC turning centers can manufacture torsion bars up to 60” for which our induction hardening machines can provide a high-strength outer case. SBP uses alloy steels such as 4140 or 4350 according to customers’ requirements. This bar stock undergoes heat treatment and oil quenching for hardening, and than undergoes tempering to restore ductility that ensures the torsion bar or custom shaft will not snap or shatter during use.
