Specialty Bar Products holds an international reputation for excellence in steel bar machining and customized manufacturing. By striving for total quality control that results in tight tolerances of finished products, SBP manufactures custom steel bars for a variety of industries including but not limited to:
Aerospace, US Military and Defense, Power Generation, Internal Bolting, Oil and Gas, Transportation Systems, Recreational Firearms, and Marine Propulsion.
In October, 1945, Blairsville Machine Products (BMP)
was founded with the acquisition of a small machine shop in Blairsville,
Pennsylvania. A 1947 military contract to produce connecting pins
led BMP to eventually become the country's largest supplier of
link connecting pins and bushings for military tracked vehicles.
In 1991, Specialty Bar Products Company acquired the Blairsville
facility and has since expanded to a second facility in Greenville,
South Carolina. From these locations, Specialty Bar Products has
machined tens of millions of steel bars that meet precise specifications.
SBP key product lines include military
and commercial
track components, recreational firearms
barrels and receivers, and power
generation internal, frame and casing bolting along with hot
section and combustion parts for OEM and aftermarket applications.
Providing uncommon levels of professionalism and service, machining
and delivering high grade steel bars at the lowest total cost-these
qualities have made SBP expansion inevitable. In October 2005,
Specialty Bar Products acquired Erie Bolt Corporation to further
expand the product base and add forging capabilities. In early
2006, Bulldog Barrels, LLC was created to specifically address
the demand for gun barrel and receiver production.
Steel Bar Machining Capabilities
Specialty Bar Products is a machine shop designed
to provide superior machined steel bars to unlimited industries.
SBP capabilities extend to both Technical Capability and Service
Capability. We equip our facilities with state-of-the-art CNC
machines, swaging
machines, EDM machines, and thread
rolling machines to enhance technical capabilities. We provide
in-house warehousing, stocking programs, and consignment inventories
to enhance our service capabilities.
From forging to cold forming, Specialty Bar Products
houses the right equipment
so we can machine the products you need. SBP expert machinists
are skilled in EDM and CNC machining, swaging and heat
treatment, superior thread
rolling and Intraform, to produce the best possible product
to exact customer specification. Machinists fabricate custom parts
on precision lathes, saws, deep-hole drills, grinders, broaches,
and over 300 other pieces of metalworking equipment. Expect SBP
to provide nothing less than exactly what you want.
